Denver Rope Bite is proud to host the Connective Rope Intensive featuring Peter Slemrian. Peter is from Copenhagen, Denmark and has taught around the world at top-tier events such as Shibaricon, European Riggers Exchange, and the Morpheous Bondage Extravaganza.
This six-hour intensive will help you improve the ways in which you build, intensify, and maintain a connection with your partner throughout your rope scene. We are limiting the class size to 12 couples to ensure a quality experience for all.
About the Class
Appropriate for all skill levels, the Connective Rope Intensive will focus on three of Peter's keystone classes:
- Ichinawa - initial approach to the magic emotional levels of kinbaku through classic one rope tying.
- Rope through kokoro - on establishing inter connection through intuitive flow, chi, two-way communication and energy exchange through a kinbaku mind and spirit.
- Untie me to Heaven - let the untying process become a passionate, integrated part of the entire session
During the class progression, we will apply some simple but very powerful techniques designed to allow the rigger to keep focus on their partner. These techniques are inspired by Japanese bondage masters Haruki Yukimura and Osada Steve. In Peter's words, they "have greatly inspired me with their styles and their emotional approaches to traditional Japanese rope."
This class is suitable for anyone with basic tying abilities. If you are familiar with the ties taught at the Rope Bite 101, such as single and double column ties, you have all of the knowledge essential to successfully attend this intensive. You do not need to be - or even aspire to be - a shibari master to benefit from this class.
Thanks to the generous support of our community and local venues, we are able to offer tickets at the bargain price of $79 per couple (plus fees). Your ticket includes entry for one top and one bottom to the six hour rope intensive. There will be an hour-long break for lunch in the middle of the day.
You will need to bring identification, rope, and safety shears. A yoga mat, water bottle, and brown bag lunch are all recommended as well.
About Peter
Peter Slemrian, an instructor from Denmark, began teaching kinbaku in 1995. Peter moves dynamically from floor work into suspensions, incorporating a range of technique as part of experience.
He founded Scandinavia's first traditional Nawa Shibari group in 1996 and in the years since has taught extensively across Europe and the world. He was a co-founding instructor of the Osada Ryu Copenhagen Shibari Dojo until 2010, when he launched the Peer Rope Copenhagen group. Today, Peter teaches and coaches rope enthusiasts and instructors in several Japanese rope styles.
Don't miss your chance to learn how to improve not only your basic rope skills, but also how to better build and create connective and emotional scenes with your rope partners. Opportunities to learn more about rope from a classically, internationally trained rope artist are infrequent in this part of the country. Please remember that class size is limited, so be sure to register today.
